The general stereotype of this generation is that they are not hard-working and lack the drive to succeed in the professional world. While this generalization is not true a fair amount of the time, one can pick out a person who fits this exact stereotype when walking down the street or scrolling through social media. Not wanting to stay a minute after work ends or start their own business, many millennials are very vocal about what they would rather be doing: watching Netflix, going out to party, scanning their social media feed, or drinking whatever kind of juice they have for the "cleanse" they're on.
These are some of the many stereotypes that are surprisingly true about this generation. This mindset could be a leading factor in destroying the self-made man mentality; when people aren't willing to put in extra work and go against the status quo of society, little change will occur and less and less people will have the motivation to do something special. Once again, of course there are many exceptions but, overall, the new generation has seemingly become lazier with improvements in technology and may turn int the beginning of the end for the age of the self-made man.
