Iwo jima
Amidst fascism and communism rose World War II, and from this horrific conflict rose the American Flag. A symbol of freedom, prosperity, and democracy, the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima not only indicated an end to the war, it symbolized the start of a new world as well. America asserted itself as the leading nation on Earth and ensured that the American Dream was here to stay.
