Bible Study: Religion in Public Schools
Since the colonization of the United States, education was a high priority; even early settlers envisioned their society as an educated one. The initial purpose of educating children was so they could read, the Bible that is. In essence, the Bible was the first textbook in American schools. Prayer was scheduled and church was mandatory.
